For thermo insulation of exhaust manifolds, turbine housings, downpipes and more, 250 x 500 x 5mm
As an alternative to heat protection tapes, there is now the thermo insulation. We offer the material for this. Needed is the fiber mat (220972 or 220980) and stainless steel sheet (220969 or 220981).
The fiber mat is wrapped around the material e.g. turbo manifold pipe and then around welded is the stainless steel sheet(s). This requires a special welding attachment, because the sheet is very thin. You can find information about this on the web.
The fiber mats are coated on one side with a self-adhesive film, allowing them to be applied directly to the component after cutting. Unfortunately, a data sheet is not available.
The temperature reduction depends on the inlet temperature and the duration of the temperature peak.
Another influencing factor is the external airflow or ventilation of the assembly.
Therefore, the temperature reduction cannot be determined solely based on the thickness of the mats.
For proper design, specific temperature tests should be conducted depending on the particular application.
