The Mishimoto low temperature racing thermostat for BMW engines is designed for enthusiasts who want improved cooling performance for modified or high-performance vehicles. Suitable for BMW M52, M54 and M56 engines, this thermostat allows coolant to circulate earlier and helps reduce engine temperatures during spirited driving, track use or performance tuning.
Compared to the factory thermostat, the Mishimoto unit begins opening 48°F (27°C) earlier. This allows coolant to flow through the radiator sooner, improving heat dissipation and helping to maintain more stable engine temperatures under high load conditions.The thermostat is supplied pre-installed in a durable OEM-quality housing, making installation simple and allowing it to directly replace the factory thermostat assembly. This upgrade is a popular modification for performance builds using the BMW M54 engine found in E46, E39 and Z4 models. Like all Mishimoto performance cooling products, this thermostat is backed by the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.
