Garrett GBC Turbocharger

The newest generation of Garrett turbocharger for Street, Track and 1/4 Mile

The GBC-series are the newest generation of journal bearing Garrett performance turbochargers

Note: GBC turbochargers use an M6 thread for mounting an oil return flange. In most cases, however, all oil return flanges have 9 mm slotted holes. This leads to too much play during installation. When installing the oil return flange, please ensure that it is centered, otherwise a smooth oil return cannot be guaranteed. It is best to fit the flange in the removed state before installing the turbocharger.

Garrett now launches a new line of turbochargers that are close to the BorgWarner AirWerks turbochargers - the GBC series. The smaller Garrett Boost Club Line turbochargers GBC14-200, GBC17-250, GBC20-300 and GBC22-350 are engineered for small engine displacements including powersports, personal watercraft, and automobiles. These turbochargers feature internally wastegated turbine housings, 0,5 bar actuator (optional available 480009-0006 = 1.0 bar, 480009-0010 = 1.5 bar) and journal bearing rotating groups. Forged, fully-machined compressor wheels can support from 200 up to 900 horsepower for engine displacements ranging from 0.4L up to 3.5L.

The first two numbers indicate the turbo frame size. The larger the number the larger the turbine wheel. The numbers following the dash indicate the peak potential flywheel horsepower rating. There are 6 Club Line turbochargers with different compressor inducer sizes and horsepower ranges: GBC14-200, GBC17-250, GBC20-300, GBC22-350, GBC-35-700 and GBC-37-900. GBC17, 20, 22 are outline interchangeable for use as stage upgrades.

Forged, fully-machined compressor wheels are offered in inducer sizes of 34mm, 36mm, 39mm, 44mm, 58mm and 67mm. They can support from 200 up to 900 horsepower. The oil cooled center housing features the latest generation of journal bearing rotor group. Club Line turbochargers are fully assembled with an internally wastegated turbine housing. Garrett’s technicians calibrate the actuator for optimum performance, eliminating any need for adjustment.
