ALV40 aluminium inlet weld on flange

Inlet weld on flange made of Aluminium for Turbosmart ALV40 Gen-V Anti-Lag valve

Aluminium Inlet adapter 44,5 mm to connect the Turbosmart anti-lag GEN 5 valve with a boost pipe

This flange is welded to the intercooler pipe, it is the counterpart of the adapter flange (TS-0550-3103, TS-0550-3102) which is screwed to the ALV40 inlet. The two flanges are connected with a V-band clamp.

Tech facts about Anti Lag:
The wastegate requires the excess charge air (when the throttle&nbspbody is closed) to be directed into the manifold via the ALV40 Anti-Lag valve. There it is then ignited by ECU programmed fuel injection. Thus the exhaust gas pressure is maintained and the turbine wheel in the turbocharger is kept at speed, so there is no turbo lag during and after a gear change. This technology comes from the WRC and has been used for 40 years.

A similar principle is used for the deactivated drive in coast, in this mode fuel injection continues and the ignition is programmed to "late". This means that the mixture ignites only in the exhaust manifold and the familiar&nbsp"Bank Bang"&nbspoccurs. This principle is however in the long run very harmful for the engine and should only be used in racing events.

Note: Suitable with ALV40 Gen-V Anti-Lag Valve inlet adapters (TS-0550-3103, TS-0550-3102)
Material: Aluminium
